ear All,
I configured Postfix 2.3.3-2 on CentOS 5.2 using SASL Dovecot
authentication put I am facing the problem to receive mails . My postconf -n
result is:
[EMAIL PROTECTED] ~]# postconf -n
…
smtpd_sasl_auth_enable = yes
smtpd_sasl_path = private/auth
smtpd_sasl_type = dovecot
Looks good.
And my /var/log/maillog is:
Aug 23 19:01:03 mails dovecot: Dovecot v1.0.rc15 starting up
Aug 23 19:01:55 mails postfix/smtpd[3472]: warning: SASL: Connect to
private/auth failed: No such file or directory
^^^^^^^^^^^^ ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
And our server 's fetchmail -vvv log is:
…
Not so interesting while your system is not proper setup yet. ;-)
You have forgot to send the output from `dovecot -n`. But before doing
so, please read http://wiki.dovecot.org/HowTo/PostfixAndDovecotSASL.
Compare your dovecot.conf with the example dovecot.conf excerpt.
Regards,
Pascal
i recommend to upgrade first postfix to current stable
2.5.4 for security and other reasons, and i am not sure dovecot auth was
allready working in 2.3.3
after that follow
http://wiki.dovecot.org/HowTo/PostfixAndDovecotSASL
be sure not to conflict with a chroot setup
in Postfix as its default i.e in ubuntu hardy
then everthing should work like charme
