Somehow I forgot to check that "make distcheck" finished

rc1, so rc1 didn't actually even fully compile. No other changes
since
rc1 than the compile fix.
Is there a list of recommended packages (particularly Debian/Ubuntu
oriented) that should be present for compilation?
gettext (for iconv) is probably the only one you might miss
accidentally, although I think it's usually installed always.
