Hmm. Interesting. Is this Ubuntu x86 or x86-64? I can't reproduce this with x86. Anyway you should be able to work around it by removing boolean settings that are set to "no". What do you get with: grep '^ *[a-z].*= *no' /etc/dovecot/dovecot.conf
