Do not use AI documentation - it cannot be trusted. Use what's on the
Dovecot site: https://doc.dovecot.org/2.4.2/installation/upgrade/2.3-
to-2.4.html.
Your best choice may be to start over with the file examples included
with the Dovecot package.
