I'm running './configure --with-doxywizard' in the root of the distribution
followed by 'make' from the command line to build doxygen and the wizard.

Yes.

I've used Qt that came with MacPorts, but also built my own version for
combined 32-bit and 64-bit architectures using:

./configure -release -arch x86 -arch x86_64 -qt-libtiff -qt-libpng -qt-libjpeg 
-qt-libmng -fast --prefix=/usr

My compiler:
g++ --version
Configured with: --prefix=/Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/usr 
--with-gxx-include-dir=/usr/include/c++/4.2.1
Apple LLVM version 5.1 (clang-503.0.40) (based on LLVM 3.4svn)
