I had forgotten about the C preprocessor's ## operator because the coding
rules where I work forbid its use (along with other "advanced" features of
the preprocessor). So I am in the habit of creating filters (usually in
Perl) to perform tasks that the preprocessor could otherwise handle quite
well.
