Hi,
Jenkins prefers to be shutdown cleanly. This requires to login into the system,
go to manage, click on the "*Shutdown*", wait for all jobs to be finished. Then
use "/etc/init.d/tomcat6 stop" to halt the application server. The maximum
damage
(AFAIK) can be a lost/corrupt build report.
I have seen Jenkins "hanging" on system start, I could resolve it by restarting
it tomcat6. The symptoms are that Jenkins stops responding to HTTP requests.
