Dear Developers,

I do not see a reason for this excitement. Here are the facts:

* To my knowledge, there has been no "damage" whatsoever.
* An asynchronous state between a master repository and a replication
repository is nothing bad, as long as the slave is only a few steps behind and
just needs to catch up.
* The reason for the failed replication is simple: Due to the SF-project
upgrade the URLs of the replication repositories changed, including the host
name. Thus, I had to change Gerrit's replication configuration (+1/-1 lines)
and add a new "known host" to Gerrit's ssh configuration (+1 line).
* Therefore Gerrit and Jenkins are now running and in good health.

Please let me know, if anyone experiences unexpected behaviors of these systems.

Best Regards,
Franz

PS: Right now I'm not sure whether Sourceforge managed to transfer the access
rights of the repositories in the intended way. The only "user" who should have
write access to the SF repos is "dpp-gerrit" -- the account used for
replication. If you have any doubt about your push configuration, please make
sure it points to Gerrit's URL
(ssh://saros-build.imp.fu-berlin.de:29418/saros.git). I do not want anybody to
push directly to the SF repository, circumventing Gerrit's repo.

Subject: [DPP-Devel] Shutdown of Jenkins and Gerrit service

Dear Saros developers,

to prevent further damage to the code repository (mainly the async.
state between the local saros-con GIT and SF GIT)
the Tomcat Server will be shut down at 0 AM (CET) 2/15/2012 to avoid access
to the Jenkins and Gerrit service.

The services will be unavailable until a migration solution is present
or the
current changes to the SF GIT repository have been reverted.

Best regards,
Stefan
