Hi Raydhitya,

Please consider the following: the Swamp Tramps (I was not aware of this name
prior to the e-mail below, and I'm curious to hear what kind of swamp is meant
here :P) have a huge advantage: They take part in a six-week full-time project
lead by myself and located in the same building as my office. So even without
prior knowledge, they had the best possible environment to get in touch with
the Saros development: direct communication is trump. (See? "Tramp" and "trump"
... haha ...)

Furthermore they work on a separate project (saros-swtp2013 instead of saros),
and the first steps included creating a simple commit mainly for the sake of
having created a commit and not so much for the content of the commits.
Therefore two commits in the first week are actually not as impressive as it
might look from the outside. (@Swamp Tramps: no offense, you're doing great!)

Subject: Re: [DPP-Devel] Introducing the Swamp Tramps

Hi Swamp Tramps
I'm a student from Institut Teknologi Bandung in Indonesia. I'm also taking
part in Saros for my final project.
You guys started on Monday and already pushed two commit two Gerrit. I have two
questions.
First, do you have prior knowledge of all the tools and the communication
channels? That means Git, Gerrit, bug tracker, etc.
Second, do you have prior knowledge of Saros code base? I need more than week
to understand a part and make a commit, but you've done it in less than one
week. What did you do to understand the code?
My questions like questions a newbie will ask, but the truth is I'm really a
newbie. The answers will help other newbies in the future, I suppose.

For even better coordination, you, too, might consider informing all
other developers about what you're working on at the moment. But that's
only a suggestion.

I've thought of that too. I think knowing what are we working on will benefit
all of us.

Best regards
Raydhitya

Dear developers,

some of you might remember that some team of FU students took part in
Saros development last year. This was part of a six weeks, full-time
Softwareprojekt making use of the Scrum framework for organisation.
On Monday a sequel has started, to your delight or dismay.

We are a new team of three and we call our selves The Swamp Tramps for a
single practical reason: it provides you with a name to blame or to
praise. This means, whenever there appears one of the below names in
Gerrit, the bug tracker, the mailing list or elsewhere, not that single
person is responsible, but the Swamp Tramps.

Our Product Backlog may be found here:
http://www.inf.fu-berlin.de/inst/ag-se/teaching/P-SWTP-2013/slides/04_ProductBacklogPreview.pdf
It consists of tasks we might tackle during the remaining five weeks. We
hope in particular to finish the four high priority items. If you have
any hopes, requests, comments, hints, notes or other information
regardings those, please post them to the mailing list. Physical
visitors are welcome, too. -- We reside in room K46, Takustraße 9, 14195
Berlin, Germany.

For better coordination we will inform you through the mailing list
about what we're working on at the moment. For example (and for real),
we're currently working on bugs nos. 782, 609 and 803.

For even better coordination, you, too, might consider informing all
other developers about what you're working on at the moment. But that's
only a suggestion.
