Yep, that's what I figured (and wrote in the commit message of

No problem -- if you are optimistic to find a "cure" for this :)
In case you don't find a quick solution: It's no big deal to revert the 
merge-commit now, cope with the problem on the dev-branch, and merge it again 
when the issue is solved. This way, the master branch stays "clean" for other 
development.

BTW: I tried to run the AddMultipleFilesTest locally and had to lower the 
number of "small files" to about 120 (instead of 1000) to make it work with the 
*pre-merge* version.
Running the *post-merge* version, I had to kill the Eclipse instance as it was 
too busy creating the log entries (writing about 1 (!) entry per second).
