Dear developers,

I am happy to announce that Saros for IntelliJ is finally taking shape!
There is even a *drum roll* screenshot on the project page [1].

The current development status on the master branch [2] runs as an
IntelliJ plugin and manages the basics:

* Connecting to an XMPP server
* Starting a session
* Sharing a project
* Concurrently add and edit files
* Contribution annotations
* Follow mode

Workarounds around limitations are described on the project page (e.g.
lack of user management).

However, there is still lots of work to do! If you want to contribute,
there are several small, isolated open features (like adding file icon
annotations) that wait for implementation. Our feature tracker [3]
serves as task backlog.
How to set up the project for development is described in detail on the
project page [1]. If there are any questions around setup, feel free to
write.

We are looking forward to announcing Saros/I v0.1 in the near future!

Best regards,
Holger
