IMO checking out all necessary projects should be enough to compile and run the application inside the IDE. At least this is the way it works with our Eclipse project (beside the VCS stuff which has to be installed directly).
Furthermore I noticed that you changed the IntelliJ build script in such a way that it requires a Eclipse installation because of the SWT libraries. You should enhance this and get rid of the Eclipse installation requirement.
