Hi everyone,

first of all I am happy to announce that we got two students accepted
for Google Summer of Code 2015! Congratulations Quentin and Kasun!

(They already wrote introductory emails a while back that you can still
check and more activity will follow soon)

To include them better in our development process, Franz and I wanted to
set up an IRC channel for Saros developers. However, we realized that we
are operting our own XMPP server (saros-con), did some digging and
discovered the ancient Saros XMPP Chatroom - this seems way easier.

So we invite everyone who is currently developing on Saros and related
projects to join that channel, to make quick discussion easier (it may
also help to clarify issues in Gerrit faster).

How to get there:

XMPP server: saros-con.imp.fu-berlin.de
User account: <Your Saros account>
Room name: saros-chat

We used Pidgin [1] as an XMPP client, available for Windows and Linux.
It has several options to join chat rooms [2]. I guess other XMPP
clients will work similarly.

Best Regards and see you in saros-chat,
Holger
