Yes, this is also what I think. We might want to keep the @blocking and 
@nonblocking annotations because they are reasonably widely used. (I disagree 
with Stefan that @nonblocking is needed because it should be "the default". I 
think he interprets it to simply means "does not block for a long time", but 
its actual meaning is "works asynchronously so may not have completed when the 
method returns", which is an important bit of information.)
