During the session invitation, Saros calculates an estimation for the
remaining time and that jumps back and forth a lot. That's what I meant by
erratic estimation.

So, I'm trying to obtain an estimation that should provide some actual
value for the end user, e.g. enable him/her to make the decision between
"grab another cup of coffee as the invitation will take another 3 minutes"
or "sit tight, it's only 20 seconds left". Hence, my focus is on smoothing
the displayed time.
