Hi there,

Where to find “saros-swtp2016”?
I’m afraid, the hint “the project ‘saros-swtp2016’” might not be as much of a
pointer as Alex probably thought it would be.
Technically speaking, “saros-swtp2016” is a fork of the official Saros
repository.
You’ll only find it in our Gerrit system [1], not on GitHub.
If you want to know more about how this fork is meant to interact with the
normal repo, read my post [2].

Google Docs vs. Bug Tracker
I only took a short look into the two Google Docs linked in your e-mails.
(For later reference: I put those links here [3], too.)
When you keep working on these documents, please make sure not to create a
second, file-based issue tracker.
If you encounter problems, that nobody seems to be actively working on right
now (maybe even then),
please file a new issue in our bug tracker.
This way we have a set of identifiable entities that can be tagged, assigned,
prioritized, checked-off,
enriched, etc., rather than some scattered semi-structured to-do-lists.

Thanks to all boatswains for sealing the hatches and scrubbing the deck so
Saros/I can finally set sail.

Cheers,
Franz

Hi Etienne,
thank you for the swift response and linking the doc. So far I couldn't see any
common issues with our findings.
I added the issues we found in regards to session initiation to the bug ticket.
They're also documented in a google doc [1].

To get our (we are Michaela, Bernd and me by the way), have a look at the
project "saros-swtp2016". This is a university project running until September
23rd.

If you have any questions or news, hit us up anytime.

Best,
Alex

Hello Alexander,

During my internship I compiled most of the stuff I found in this google
doc<https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Zg6Es9rlj4oROqpABKs-5D0IGmBpVWCaLCTlj2C__1c/edit#heading=h.6qaxriwqd5gt>.
Maybe you can still find something interesting in there.

Btw I lacked motivation in the summer, but I am still interested in following
this wobbly bug-ship :). How can I make sure I get all the updates on your work?

Regards,
Etienne

Hi there,
we're currently looking into Saros/I and already created a little
comparison between the features of Saros/I and Saros/E. This comparison
already covers most of the things that are visible to the user, but not
much of the under-the-hood stuff.

To start improving Saros/I, we focussed on the session initiation
process, which we created a bug ticket for:
https://sourceforge.net/p/dpp/bugs/867/

At the moment we're still busy investigating what's working and what's
not and how to reproduce faulty behaviour. This too, will be documented.

My question now is: Where to we put this kind of documentation? Is there
some sort of central place it's supposed to go?

And of course: If someone is interested to jump aboard this wobbly
bug-ship, get in touch! ;-)

Thanks,
Alex
