11:40-42 Type in file instead of in chat
When host (daniel) changes file and participants are in follow mode and try to 
type in chat, the curser changes to the newly opened file and the participants 
type in file instead of in chat. (see logs on devel list).

That seems correct.

My expectation would be that my cursor stays in the chat, but instead it is
in the just opened file and my writing is somewhere in the first lines of
this file.

are the follower)?
