Resolution: None
Priority: 5

Submitted By: erosen (erosen)
Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody)
Summary: Screensharing: Reciever is able to see the whole desktop

Initial Comment:
The sender should decide on the info he wants to transfer.
At the moment the person receiving the screen can change the setting to see the
full screen of the person sending the screen without the permission of the
sender.
This should not be possible w/o the sender's confirmation.

Message:
This "feature" is better than some sorts of trojans / virus / etc ...

Please disable it. Just accidently minimizing the Eclipse Window is enough
to see some data that you should not see. Normally if the Eclipse Window is
put into the background a dark screen should be appear unless the sharing
participants decides to transmit non related Eclipse stuff.

Leaving up the question, how to handle not fully maximzed Eclipse Windows.

Message:
This feature should be removed as its current state is completely
inacceptible and it severely lowers the overall user experience. Each
feature in a software contributes to the overall user satisfaction. This
features implementation lowers the satisfaction severly.

If you want to make sure you don't make too many people scream when
removing this feature (to later integrate it again in a fully functional
state), send a saros survey, asking users if they are using VOIP or
screensharing in saros.

Also include a questions asking if they use SKYPE whenever they do a saros
session.

Because if most people that use the screensharing are using skype, just
tell them how to use the skype screensharing which is much more reliable
than the current screensharing stuff in Saros, and remove the internal
feature.
