** [bugs:#874] User Still Shown Online to Peers After Loosing Connection**
**Status:** open
**Group:** OTHER
**Created:** Tue Sep 20, 2016 02:43 PM UTC by Alexander Jakobi
**Last Updated:** Tue Sep 20, 2016 02:43 PM UTC
**Owner:** nobody
**Description**
When a user looses the connection to the XMPP server whithout being able to log
off the XMPP server (so no unavailable status could be sent), the user is still
shown as online to his/her peers.
**Reproduction**
* Have two instances of an IDE with Saros running, each connected to an XMPP
server with the connected accounts being in each other's contact lists
* Switch off the network of one the instances
* Note that the offline user is still shown as online
* All actions depending on a contact being online can still be started
**Expected Behaviour**
When performing actions that depend on a contact's online status (especially
when starting a session), the actual online status of the respective user
should be detected reliably, reasonably fast and ultimately taken into account
when performing the action.
