Category: None Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Submitted By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Win-S shortcut failure Initial Comment: I have a second set of toolbars on the top of screen. Win-S works fine when DQSD is on the bottom toolbar with my start button and tray, but when I move it to the top toolbar (where I keep all my shortcut buttons) Win-S does nothing. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Herman Fuchs (starf0x) Date: 2002-07-04 15:16 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=193299 The cursor blinks on DQSD but do not focus on it, that's the problem. I tried to uninstall -> reboot -> install -> reboot it again, without any results. Is there any way to manually load this DLL? I'm almost sure that the 1st installation, which I got the error that DQSDTools.dll couldn't be loaded, was the major fault. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Will Dean (willdean) Date: 2002-07-04 14:44 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=130313 Starfox, You need to say what the DLL errors you're getting actually are. If the DLL is not loading correctly with DQSD, then features like WIN-S won't actually work - we cannot help you diagnose this without the exact text of the error message though. I don't actually understand the comment about the cursor just blinking on DQSD - that's all that's supposed to happen. WIN-S just changes the focus to the DQSD window, so that you can type your search in. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Date: 2002-07-04 14:43 Message: Logged In: NO just FYI, my Win S problem was fixed along with the DLL error message by a re-install (close search bar, reboot, reinstall, reboot, add search bar to the taskbar). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Herman Fuchs (starf0x) Date: 2002-07-04 14:37 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=193299 Just tried in another machine (win98se / single monitor / clean install) and got the same DLL errors on the installation. Any way to fix it? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: mary branscombe (marypcb) Date: 2002-07-04 12:24 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=567926 Win S doesn't work at all on my Win XP system (single taskbar, dual head monitor); it may be related to start up errors with a DLL and DQSD 3.0 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Herman Fuchs (starf0x) Date: 2002-07-02 14:01 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=193299 WIN-S did not work here :/ The cursor just blinks on DQSD and nothing happens. Win98SE.. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Will Dean (willdean) Date: 2002-07-01 22:09 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=130313 I've fixed this for the case where you take DQSD off the taskbar and dock it directly on the edge of the screen - I'll check revised code into CVS once the tagging's been done. Perhaps the poster of this bug has another way of having multiple toolbars and we'll need to work with that one. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=432066&aid=576155&group_id=42081 ------------------------------------------------------- This sf.net email is sponsored by:ThinkGeek Caffeinated soap.
