Dave, all, I started playing around (again) last night with the problem of the missing tray icons. I'm 99% sure that this can be remedied by delaying all script activity during startup. The problem with this, is that there is a ton of script executed as it is loaded by IE. To change this, it is going to require that all (most) of the 'global' script statements be moved inside functions. Moving script inside functions causes havoc to assumptions about variable scope, etc., so there's a lot of double-checking, testing, etc. required.
But, it can be done it will just take a while, and require a careful attention and testing. It would also be a good time to reorganize, cleanup, and make consistent a lot of the methods that have been added in an ad-hoc manner (I'm probably the chief perpetrator). Anyway, I'll get the ball rolling as my time permits, but it would probably be best to wait until after a solid release. Thoughts?
