It seems the only separater in the long date is "space".
When I use MM-dd...  it does not show.
I also tried "-"

Works for me.  E.g., this:

  clocklongform  = " MM-dd, yyyy h:mm A ";

causes this to be displayed:

  10-21, 2002 10:54 PM
