Category: Search Group: None Status: Closed Resolution: Works For Me Priority: 5 Submitted By: Charlie (bucweat_20657) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: certain words will not initiate a search Initial Comment: Version 3.1.4.0 - October 3, 2002 on Win2K SP3 If I type "mac" followed either nothing or additional text and hit enter, it will not initiate a search...no window opens at all. If I type " mac" (note leading space) it will. Everything else I've tried works fine. Is somebody blocking the word "mac"? BTW very cool app!!! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Glenn Carr (glenncarr) Date: 2002-11-27 17:48 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=18127 Yeah, that's why we need to disable alot of the searches by default, IMO. Most just install it to help them google. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Charlie (bucweat_20657) Date: 2002-11-27 17:43 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=211256 Wow...and here I thought this was just a simple search tool. Sorry for the bougus bug report...guess I ought to RTFM :-) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Glenn Carr (glenncarr) Date: 2002-11-27 13:29 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=18127 It's because 'mac' is defined as shortcut to "Convert between a router MAC address format to a switch MAC address format." (Type "? mac"). To get around this, either explicitly specify google: gg mac or fire up the help/about screen and under 'Functions' uncheck the checkbox next to 'mac' to disable it and close the window. You should just be able to enter 'mac' now. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=432066&aid=644871&group_id=42081 ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Get the new Palm Tungsten T handheld.
