Summary: disappearing tray icons

Initial Comment:
Several have reporting missing tray icons (the apps are
running, but their tray icons don't show) if the search bar
is adjacent to the tray icon area.

>From my experience the icons sometimes disappear when the
search bar isn't adjacent as well. (XP).

[running XP/IE6] I found that the tray display of DSQD
obliterated my double-computer-thingey-Icon; which I
need click to see what speed I'm loading @, & to order
Disconnects, when Autodisconnect doesn't appear.
Also, with DSQD, Autodisconnect ceased-appearing; so
the only way to Disconnect was to Reboot! So, I
uninstalled DSQD...
Running version sent out last night, 8/27/02

I am running into the same problem. However, only "certain" program icons don't make
it into the tray. Others reliably appear.
I have my task bar on the left (vertical) and the search field is not next to the tray
icons (which are on the bottom of the task bar)

System: Windows 2000 with SP2, running on a Sony PCG-C1XS, 400MHZ, 128MB RAM, 25% of
disk is empty.

Good luck,

On Windows 2000 (don't know about XP), grab the toolbar by
the 'gripper' doo-dad, and drag it to the desktop. It should
create a floating 'tool' window.

You might also need to resize it so that the text field is visible.

I move the search bar to the left, and I still loose ICONs.
Is there a way to make the Search Bar a Pulloff type window,
like some windows programs have for command bars?

Just an Idea.

Vern

They disappear if the search bar is aligned to the right (if the
bar moves left/right when an icon appears/disappears.
