Here's a possible solution:
1) Use XmlHttp to retrieve the page
2) call function setSearchWindowText to set the search
bar's text. The second parameter determines whether
or not the text is selected. This function is defined
in defer_tools.js.
var http_obj = new ActiveXObject("Microsoft.XMLHTTP");
http_obj.Open('GET',webpage_url,false);
http_obj.Send();
setSearchWindowText(http_obj.responseText);
