So, this seems to have drifted slightly off-topic. I've looked into what it would take to pull this off, and the biggest hurdle seems to be that CVS doesn't natively support moving files.
I've tried to connect to Sourceforge via SSH, but I can't seem to get to the CVS directories. I'm not sure I would want to move stuff around anyway, it seems kinda risky. One idea for a solution is to let the installer select which searches are core searches, and stuff them in /coresearches/, but it feels ucky not having the same structure in the install dir as in the CVS...
