Category: None Group: None >Status: Closed >Resolution: Fixed Priority: 5 Submitted By: Martin Ott (ploom) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: cannot use the hotkey feature Initial Comment: I just cannot use the hotkey feature - it is better for me not to assing a hotkey at all... Weird things start to happen when I press the key assigned with 'hotkeyCharacter =' line in addition to the WIN key. It depends on the key value in there but in general the system enters like in an infinite loop sending some keypressings to any active window and mouse becomes unusable. Althrough I can use the keyboard and restart my system (don't know the other way ending that weird loop) Once after moving the bar to the other end of screen managed to get an error: DQSDTools.KeyboardHook - Can't install hook Im using WinME [v 4.90.3000] and IE [v 6.0.2800.1106 ] with every critical fix applied for both of them through the Windows Update. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Kim Grsman (kimgrasman) Date: 2004-07-20 18:44 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=551308 Should be fixed from 3.1.8 and onwards ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Hans Fr. Nordhaug (hansfn) Date: 2003-06-15 10:27 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=21914 I can confirm this behaviour, i.e., program windows going crazy when the chosen DQSD hotkey is used. (In particular the taskbar is expanded so it covers half my screen!) Tested on two computers running Windows 98 SE and IE 6.0 with all updates and DQSD versions 3.0 to 3.1.6.0. This is also posted in the mailing list in the "Crazy windows" thread - see http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/message.php? msg_id=2154538 and follow-ups http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/message.php? msg_id=2157540 There several other posts related to this problems - mostly for Windows 98 users. (Windows ME is based on Windows 98 AFAIK.) I would be happy to debug the problem if you point me to a debugging tool. Finnaly - please respond and give this bug higher priority since many of us is still using Windos 98...
