Originally the popups were coming up individually using openPopup() and a banner would be displayed in each one. This was changed to write to a file and open all the comics in one page using the default browser. I think using window.open() does not create the security banner... Since it opens in a simpler and quicker window, I am thinking I will leave it that way..

When I tried to test this, I enabled the guest account on my machine, and switched to the login..

I got a string of errors reported -

on startup -
"Unable to instantiate DQSDTools.launcher: Automation server cant create object."

and

"The DQSD help DLL is not properly installed."

after attempting a search -
"script error - The DQSDLauncher.AppDataDirectory is null or not an object in search.htm"
(got this one twice)

and

"problem initializing enhanced keyboard support."

Hi Monty,

I seem to recall you or Brent changed them to write to a temp file about a
year ago. I'm not up on the details of why, but I think it was some security
issue.

Try and check the CVS history for comx to see if you can find any reasons
there.

Cheers,
- Kim
