I dont know if this will help, but in my experience with the toolbar, script errors are most commonly caused by either a duplicated search or function, or a syntax problem with one of the searches..
I know there are other people running this taskbar on WinXP, so the OS probably isnt the culprit, unless there is some service pack somewhere that helps the matter.. Is this from a purely clean install or have you installed the latest version over an older version? Have you generated your own/modified any existing searches? I have also noticed when working on my own searches and having coding problems that cause errors, the toolbar can get into a state where the script errors persist even after the errant code I introduced was removed. Closing/reopening the toolbar always fixes it.. If you could, please try this - 1. Close the toolbar, 2. Logout/in or reboot 3. Uninstall it. (this is important.. Please dont skip this step) 4. Verify the Quick Search Deskbar directory is empty. If not, remove anything inside. If there are 'in use' errors deleting the contents of this directory, then the toolbar is not full uninstalled. 5. Download and re-install the latest version. If no errors are reported during the install process, you should be ready to go.. (hopefully) Hope this helps Monty _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ Monty Scroggins Broadband Data Systems Engineering (BDSE) MCI Worldcom > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf > Of Ludovic > d'Anchald > Sent: Friday, May 17, 2002 3:01 AM > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: RE: [DQSD-Users] Fwd: Dave's Quick Search > Deskbar v2.5.7 - bug? > Sensitivity: Personal > > > Well, sorry to give a disturbing report, but I do have > the script error with IE6 on my home PC > > Description : > > type "gg bananas", the thing flies > type "bananas", script error > (when I have some time, I'll note the line # and tell you) > > My config : > > - WinXP Home with most of the hotfixes > - IE 6.0 with all latest patches > - lastest DQSB beta build (had this problem since 2 or 3 > builds IIRC) > > > > Note that at work, same setup save Win2KSP2 instead of > WinXP, I don't have these script errors. > > HTH > > MLL > > > -----Original Message----- > > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On > Behalf Of John W. > > Bairen, Jr. > > Sent: Friday, May 17, 2002 1:10 AM > > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > Subject: RE: [DQSD-Users] Fwd: Dave's Quick Search Deskbar > > v2.5.7 - bug? > > > > > > I also wonder which version they are trying to install/run. > > a while back (i > > think somewhere in 2.5.7 beta) there was a registry change > > made by Dave (i > > think it had to do with activeX). the next beta build worked > > on my home PC > > but not on my work PC.
