i'm just throwing this out there for someone with more knowledge than me (which is just about everybody ;) ) to think about...
 
i actually remember getting the switches.0.name error before, but i haven't a clue as to the solution, but i have a thought.
 
would this happen if someone had a mixture of the old (obsolete) Google searches and the new (unified) Google search?  it seems to me that the fix might be to try the following steps.
 
1. close the toolbar
2. log off/on
3. just delete your 'searches' directory and reinstall the latest version (i recommend 2.5.8 beta 8)

doc - afaik we don't have a solution yet for this script error; many people have encountered it (I haven't), but I don't have a fix I can recommend yet.
 
dqsd-users: this was an interesting report of the "line 390" script error, because it has a different error message that hints what the problem is: 'switches.0.name" is null or not an object....
