As one of the people writing functionality you consider an extension - I still don't see how this is possible. Most of the things I'm writing require code insertion into the existing files. I can't imagine how you'll tackle that issue.
For right now I'm left keeping my modifications to myself, which is a shame. -Dan -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Wednesday, May 29, 2002 4:19 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [DQSD-Users] [ dqsd-Feature Requests-562098 ] allow for optional extensions Feature Requests item #562098, was opened at 2002-05-29 16:19 You can respond by visiting: http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=432069&aid=562098&group_id= 42081 Category: None Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Submitted By: Glenn Carr (glenncarr) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: allow for optional extensions Initial Comment: The idea is to make 'packages' or 'extensions' available which are similar to searches but aren't delivered with the default installation. What distinguishes a search from an extension? Well, IMO, any feature that requires more than a single .xml file in the searches directory. My current thought is to have another subdirectory -- 'packages' or 'extensions', which would contain a subdirectory for each extension. Which in turn would contain all the files necessary for that extension. There would need to be an .xml file with a standard name which would function similarly to the search .xml files and would typically contain script.
