Steve,

Try deleting all your Google related searches.  For example if you still have a searches.xml, delete it.  If you have a goo.xml delete it.  Delete your preferences.js.  Then re-install 3.0 ( or 3.0.24 the latest beta as it fixes 2 or 3 problems in 3.0).  Then refresh dqsd.

I think the issue you’re running into is that sometime in the mid 2.5x versions the Google searches were completely reworked and consolidated.  If the upgrade leaves the old files behind, problems like this can occur.

Give it a try and let us know.

JB

Subject: [DQSD-Users] After installing 3.0 everything works--except Google!

Having used Dave's Excellent Toolbar for a long time, I was delighted to see that 3.0 did everything new I'd ever asked for and more. So I updated from my old version, which I think was something like 2.54.

Everything is wonderful except when I do a straight search, I get a 404 File Not Fund error that reads like this:

The requested URL /search?cat=++&meta=++&q=test was not found on this server.

(In the example, I searched for the word "test".)

If I go to Google and sratch for "test" it works fine.

Can anyone tell me where I went wrong? I've unistalled, deleted the folder, reinstalled from scratch and still no luck.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, as it's only been an hour and I miss The Toolbar already.

Thanks'

Steve Krug
