Thanks, I didn't realize that holidays and events were the same things...

Cool as it is, it only seems to work for strictly recurring holidays (like
Christmas day, et al). Is there an online service that can produce a
(semi-)structured list of known holidays for any given year and country? I
could spend some time building a transformation into DQSD event xml
format...
