This is an online version check to see if an update is available..   It is
failing because the website to which it is connecting hasn't received the
latest updates..

To turn the auto-check off, set "checkForUpdate = false" in your
localprefs.js file.

Example:

/* Check web for an updated version each time the toolbar is started */
checkForUpdate = true;
checkForUpdateDelay = 10000; // millisecond delay after first search
