Hi Pablo, > 1. well if popup object is avaible only in IE 5.5 > then DQSD will loose the 5.0 crowd...
That's a good point. The majority of the code will still function under <5, minus the calendar and the help facility (qsfind and '?'). The basic engine itself does not rely on this function. > i wonder what the real stats are as far as 5.0 vs 5.5+. > personally id liek to see this tool work with 5.0+ as > that seems to be around since at least 1999 or 2000 > right? History of IE: 1995-08 - IE 1 1995-11 - IE 2 1996-08 - IE 3 1997-10 - IE 4 1999-03 - IE 5 2000-07 - IE 5.5 2001-08 - IE 6 2002-09 - IE 6 sp1 Mind you, it's a couple months into 2004, now. IE5.5 was a patch for the IE5 that shipped with W98SE and W2K, W98 shipped with IE4.01, but that was way back in '97. IMNSHO, if people haven't installed a patch (5 -> 5.5) in over 3 and a half years, they probably wouldn't even be interested in DQSD anyway. If they haven't installed a patch in 7 years - well, ...hmmm... I think I'd better bite my tongue. > 2. the hack i did seems to work because it ties into > events of the html being displayed in the poup window > ..i guess this is a bug, so its not to be relied on I doubt it would work reliably across windows installations, even on the same OS. > 3. that sucks ;( i think the popup is so cool cause > it gets rid of the title bar chrome...is there another > way to accomplish what i want? Since you were interested in compiling your own application anyway, you could just build an activex class object that took a few arguments for parameter/startup information, then populated a small toolwindow-style form. This would also give you the opportunity to have nifty special effects on the W2K+ line, like window transparency. Regards, Shawn K.
