Shawn,

Would you consider sharing your local aliases file with us so we can get
some ideas on more creative ways to use the toolbar. :-)

I too really depend on the toolbar, but I'm sure that there are many things
I should use it for that I don't currently.

Tony

DQSD HAS NOT BEEN ABANDONED.

I'm sorry!!! I started 'moving' from Detroit to Chicago then to CA
about 3 months ago - in the mean-time it all hit the fan and I haven't
had ANY time to even read my email. I'm catching up now, but am using
a horrifically SLOW dial-up connection (*when* it works) and DSL was
pushed back until th 6th - so I won't even have a 'real' connection
for another week.

DQSD HAS NOT BEEN ABANDONED.

Even if nobody else is interested in it, I WILL be continuing work on
DQSD - developing new features and stomping bugs - as long as I have
any interest in the JavaScript language (which will probably be a VERY
long time).

I use DQSD for almost everything I do now: loading programs locally
(instead of the start menu); performing common tasks (anything that
can be controlled via a command-line); and of course - I also use it
to search for things online - but that's really become a secondary
function for me. DQSD is everything from my scratch pad to my windows
explorer view - I *need* it to use Windows.

Also, I'm using a Mac at work now (not by choice, but at least it's
OSX - so there IS hope), and I intend to create a port of DQSD to
Linux at some point in time. That way I can use it for all those
menial tasks both at work and at home. It'd be nice to be the first
tool of this kind to breach the OS-barrier, too. I also intend to make
a trimmed down version of DQSD that can be run COMPLETELY from a
regular browser window - so someday you may hit dqsd.net and be able
to 'run' DQSD without even having it installed.

Exactly. DQSD is far ahead of the game. However, it still has some
issues that need corrected, and I will be working on those as soon as
I have a reliable (heck, I'd probably even settle for unreliable right
now - as long as I had a 1 in 5 chance of getting online when I tried)
connection I'll resume active participation in the community.
