Hi Michael, It all sounds pretty chaotic :)
I don't have many details on the launch modes, but I suspect they're trying to use different ways to launch the browser window (DDE, IE's automation model, command-line, etc), but that the behavior that held true when they were added (circa IE6) is no longer intact. We should try and figure this out, but I'm not sure when I'll have a dev environment for DQSD in place again... Thanks for the report.
