If all you see is "Quick Search" on the bottom, it means the bar is there, but hasn't got room to expand. You need to right click your toolbar and unlock it. Then expand the Quick Search toolbar by clicking on the pebbled vertical bar to the left of Quick Search and dragging it to the left to expand the toolbar. (You can reduce the space required for the toolbar by right clicking Quick Search and clearing the "Show Title" option.)
