I haven't seen any replies yet, so I'll ask if you get the same behavior from the UNC path... I'd expect that it would fail the same way, but I can't imagine why.
If the Draco user that is running the service has the drive letter mapped as part of it's profile and can access it for purposes of pulling data, then any child thread of the process would operate in the same profile context, I would expect... What's the exact error message?
