I purchased the partially completed MK1 in 93 and converted it to a MKIII
tricycle gear. The DF has custom upholstery (cloth), a transponder with
c-mode inputs. Gauges include: airspeed indicator, left and right cylinder
head temp., oil pressure, oil temp, amp meter, compass, altimeter, main fuel
gauge, header tank gauge, artificial horizon, and others. The DF has been
primed and ready for the finish sanding and paint. The canopy is clear and
forward hinged. The cowling is in need of final fit. The engine is a new
HAPI 60DM. The rudder cables need to be attached. There are disk brakes on
the main gear. The nose wheel assembly is from a BD and need repair. The
right wing strobe lens needs repair. The wings have been glassed to the
fuselage and are very smooth, but will have to be removed to be loaded on a
trailer unless it is loaded on it's nose. This DF has very little work left
on it and could be completed in about one week of work plus paint.
I purchased this DF for $9,000.00 and have spent many more thousands to get
it where it is now. This plane has not been registered so I suppose someone
could claim they built it from scratch and avoid the A&P signoffs for work.
I am anxious to sell it as soon as possible and will consider any offer.
