..A strange relationship continues "Well my artist friend there is the night you are familiar with, and then there is the night of kindred.... those who sleep like the dead." and as Myles says that his pack of wolves surround them following their friend. Crysania
absently holds a hand out to a wolf as they come closer. "Is the night of the
kindred so much different than the night of the mortal?" "In a way
yes...." he knew not how others were except himself, and his sire. Myles had
killed his sire to escape his killing ways. "I am not usually excepted by the
living such as you.... and I don't live as you." How do you live then hmmm? I know you are bound to the night...but how do you live in that night? asks the young artist. "All I do is in the night, I have forgotten the sun but for what you have shown me in your work, he stopped and turned to her, and placed a hand against her soft cheek, "I am bound to the living to survive." Crysania feels the unnatural coldness of his skin then looks up at him, into his eyes, "what do you take from the living then to survive?" Myles stands there looking deep into her eyes and he hesitates.... taking a deep breath he begins, "I am not sure you want to know that my artist friend." Crysania shakes her head and looks to the wolves, "they hunt and feed...can it be so much worse in your case?" Myles grasps her hand that is holding the rose and takes the rose from her hand all the while he looks at her, "I hope you are prepared for this." and taking the rose by the stem he takes a thorn and with as much care as possible he presses it against her thumb to bring forth a drop of blood. "I am sorry...." Crysania looks surprised at the shock of the brief pain as the thorn pierces her skin...she looks at him; puzzled by his actions. She looks at the drop of blood then back to him Myles takes her hand, and slowly as the drop gets a little bigger and begins to trickle down your thumb he brings her hand to between their faces, "This is what I mean be needing the living to survive..." and bringing her thumb to his lips he softly licks the blood from her thumb and gently sucks upon the tip licking at the wound his innate ability to close the wound with but a lick from his tongue. Crysania watches, feeling lips and tongue against her hand. She stands as if in a spell as the implications settle in her mind, "How much blood do you need...to survive...?" Her voice is surprisingly calm despite what she has seen...another mystery for her mind to dwell... Shuddering from the ecstasy of her blood he pulls his head back taking a deep breath and the moonlight shines off of his fangs. Suddenly he realizes what he has done turning his head to avert his eyes from hers, "I try and only feed to survive, but I can take all of lifes precious blood if I desire." Crysania admires the strange beauty of light shining from fangs housed within human lips. She carefully, slightly nervously, places a hand on his shoulder when he turns from her... Are all the kindred like you then? Or do they desire the death of their victim?" Myles could hear her heart beat and feel the warmth of her body, "I have only known one other, and I don't know why he spared me, I think it was his idea at a cruel joke, he turned to look at her again his insides burned with the warmth of just a few sweet drops of her life. "As for others I do not know the one I did killed without remorse." Crysania frowns slightly as she puzzles over his words, "You killed another of your kind? I thought you were immortal as long as you stayed away from sun's light...?" "No my sire killed without remorse," Myles replied as he took her and began walking again he had a place he wanted her to see, "Sun light will kill me yes amongst other things." Crysania
follows, eyes roaming the ground for hidden obstacles. "What else offers a
danger to you? A different concept of immortality than I have been told indeed.
Will you age or are you always the same?" she pauses as another question comes
to mind, "how old are you?" Myles
leads her a bit further to a clearing in the woods with a small fire lit by a
near by stream, the moonlight glimmers off the water as it's sweet melody runs
by. He sits her down on the grass near the fire while he sits near her but a
little further back. "Fire is another way to be rid of kindred, and if you
could drain all my blood I would die, other than that I no naught." Crysania raises her hands to warm them
and glances about the clearing. "Is this your doing, the fire?" She
twists around to look at him, one hand resting on the ground. "Is this where
you stay at night when you aren't hunting?" He looked to her and smiled,
"Yes this is my doing for tonight, but I stay where ever the ground will let me
when the sun is near rising." He watches as the wolves slowly lope around
the outside of the clearing to lay down keeping an eye on their friend. Crysania
watches the wolves too, "do they wait for you during the day while
you...sleep?" Myles smiles to her, "Yes they are
creatures of the night, they will hunt when needed but mostly they stay near
by... they are my family." He
placed a hand upon hers....Do you ever think you would want to experinec
eternal night?" Crysania is startled by the question but doesn't pull
away...the offer is appealing in a dark way. "Eternal night as a kindred?
What else does being kindred entail?" Myles "I
am sorry I should not have asked you that.... he turns his head away from
hers and sighs, "I am sorry Crysania it is a curse to be the walking dead. I
try to not be like the stories people tell, but I am evil." Turning back to
her he grasps her hand and gently kissed the back of her hand, "I am
sorry..." Crysania puts her hand over his, "I do not see evil in you...an
evil person would have killed me by now. Instead you sit and answer my questions
about the night. Don't be sorry..." Too be continued |
