Dolls The following four pairs of dolls can be bid upon as a lot starting at 48 gold pieces, or individually. Each of the following dolls is unique in her/his distinctive facial features based upon the type and grain of wood used and her/his coloration; however, all of the dolls share these similar attributes: all of this set are 12 inches tall standing for the girls and 13 inches for the boys, their hair is real and of the finest natural hues available to the Toymaker, their glass eyes are individually crafted and colored and never to be reproduced in any future toy. All of their gowns have been made of the highest quality silks, wools, cottons, linens and furs and individually tailored to the spirit the Toymaker saw in the wood as he carved each little lady and lord. Also, all of the dolls are as yet unnamed. Jakey felt that right belonged to whoever should own them. D-1: Starting price at 6 gold The Royal Princess item D-1 is a fair haired beauty of straight, shining gold hair reaching past her waist, brilliant eyes of deep sky blue, with an impish grin to charm and warm even the iciest heart. The lean-grained piece of white ash used to carve her form lends to her being a lithe essence of delicate pale-skinned loveliness. Each limb is fully articulate, just as the head and waist may move and bend as natural. Our Princess, with her impish and charming smile, is gowned with a flowing skirt of shiny blue silk insert with slashes of deeper velvet in the loose folds as they sweep back to her pointed arch train, hiding a matching pair of velvet slippers. The hem of her skirt and edges between silk and velvet of her train are stitched with delicate golden embroidery, giving her dress a stained-glass window appearance. Her close-fitted bodice of the same rich blue velvet is modestly square cut and similarly embroidered and sports a puff of velvet and shimmering gold silk inset at each shoulder from which each fabric dangles down her chiffon-sleeved arms in ribbons. She is complimented with a small scepter topped with a tiny cut-glass blue gem and a wire tiara. Both accessories are made of real gold. D-2: Starting price at 6 gold The Fairy Princess item D-2 is a mischievous little vixen by her wild and tightly curled tresses of fiery red hair and the tempting wink of her eye. Her eyes are a smoky gray cut from within to catch and sparkle the light. The very tight lines of the white pine used to carve her make her seem as thin, light, and graceful as any real fae - appropriate since she comes accessorized with a pair of "B" shaped wings made of gossamer silver silk stretched over a frame of gold wire. Her one-piece dress is made of criss-cross cut patches of varying weaves of silks and light cottons ranging from light-red to orange to light-orange to yellow-oranges making her seem as if a flame had danced to life. The patches over-lap each other, with the bottoms left to flutter freely, starting from the right shoulder, leaving the left bare, and flowing down her pert and girlish frame. Her skirt begins to end from just above her right knee sloping down to above her left ankle. Her little feet are decked in light sandals made of very fine gold wire that wraps up around her slender calves. Beside the pair of pixie wings accompanying her, the Fairy Princess also comes with a long and twisted wand of highly polished silver speckled with tiny chips of red glass. D-3: Starting at 6 gold The forests are the home to this Druid Princess, item D-3. A tiara of leafy ivy vines, made of thin-pulled silver wire, holds back her long, wavy locks of thick brown hair from a face made sweet with the quizzical lift of her brows and widening of her glimmering hazel eyes. Meticulously molded from a piece of black cherry wood, she was lightly stained to keep her reddy-brown tanned complexion forever. A flowing loose blouse of light linen the brightness of new-fallen snow covers a shirt of deep water blue that hugs itself to her endowed assets as if a second skin from the mid of her neck to within the waistband of her skirt. Made of supple, napped doe-skin, the skirt reaches down to the tops of her stout, forest-treading boots, and trails behind her to help cover her tracks and to protect her outer dress. The outer dress, like the rest of her clothing, bears embroidery of mystical shapes and symbols important in nature. But where her shirt, blouse, and skirt are marked thus in the many colors of dye to be found in the woods, her outer dress of fine green velvet is embroidered with delicate thread-of-silver around the hems and the wide belt of the same velvet to tie it closed; this is then left to dangle to her knees. Already crowned the Druid Princess, our woodland beauty also carries with her a tall staff of gnarled and age-darkened oak cross-wrapped with rose-vines of gold and silver wire. D-4: Starting at 6 gold Item D-4, the Gypsy Princess, will step, twirl, and sway her way into your heart with her sensual rhythm. The undulating grain of the black ash used has captured the spirit of a lithe and graceful dancer in the form of this thin yet voluptuously curved girl. A slight olive stain adds to her dark beauty, blending melodiously with her long, gleaming black hair and brilliant glass eyes like jade to heighten her natural exotic flair. Her pieces were fitted with such care as to allow her full range of suppleness, allowing her to be posed in any manner humanly possible. Her costume was also tailored to allow for free and sensual movement: her raven tresses, hanging to her knees, have been tied back at the nape of her neck with a yellow bandana. She wears a sleeveless peasants' blouse of parrot green which hangs low off her shoulders; its loose crochet conceals little of her warm olive flesh and is knotted up to expose her dancer's toned belly, bejeweled with a faceted real amethyst. Never fear for indecency however, the blouse is skirted around the ruffled drawstring collar by a band of canary yellow lace that hangs to the peaks of her breasts which are wrapped supportively and protectively in a blinding poppy red silk. Her skirt is no less spectacular being sewn from filmy layer upon layer of plum-colored sheer silk to add great depth of color and shadowy mystery to the rhythm of her graceful limbs within. Around her waist, and slanted askew to her left ankle across the deep purple of her dress, is tied a fringed cotton shawl whose gradient yellow and orange colors lend itself to be a seaside sunset by the cloth's wavy damask pattern. Accessorizing counter to the tilt of the shawl across her hips jingles a belt of wide golden discs, each engraved with an arcane rune and studded with a tiny precious gem chip, and connected by twisted links of gold. No gypsy, let alone this fine Princess, would be found without further elaboration; her tiny wrists are laden with bracelets of gold and silver wire of various thicknesses and complexity, some ranging from simple torques to eye-bending metal knot-work dazzled further with chips of glass. Her hands even grasp to tiny squares of silk scarves, of every color, that flutter with her spins. And to complete the magical chiming of her jeweled arms, she wears a pair of hoop earrings with tiny cymbal discs to ping as she moves. D-5: Starting at 6 gold Item D-5 is the matching Prince for our Royal Princess, lot D-1. The regal Prince wears his blonde-hair pulled back slick along his scalp, and tied up against the nape of his neck with a short blue ribbon, to keep his noble brow and face free of shadow. The ends of those golden locks are kept trimmed to perfection that they barely brush against the strength and pride in his broad shoulders. His debonair splendor is only heightened by the carefully joyous quirk of one corner of his mouth and the intense stare of his slate blue eyes. This doll was made to be every measure of storybook princely and courtly refinery; from the sapphire glass gems tipping the spires of his knot-work engraved coronet to the toes of his shining black boots. His pristine white trousers, tucked into each calf-high boot, are cut slim and fitting to his white ash-hewn legs. Each trouser leg is trimmed up the outer sides with a broad band of blue, as speech-taking as the night sky surrounding the brightness of a full moon, and stitched with a scroll of leafy vines in glittering gold. A pair of long fencing gloves, the leather dyed a deep indigo, protects the fingers of the Prince. Each glove rides up the Prince's forearms and is reinforced with gilded steel such that they appear as miniature versions of the Princess' s stained-glass window train. Beneath those fine gauntlets and under his mantel, a bright blue satin quilted with silver thread and emblazoned on the chest with a couped stag 's head in gold stitch, he wears a tunic of linen as finely white as his Princess-Love's downy skin. Our Prince also comes with the means to defend his Princess; belted over his courtly finery hangs a wide and finely tooled sword belt of polished black leather. Complete with scabbard and a long sword of real steel, whose pommel, grip, and crosspiece have been meticulously tooled for realism, the Royal Prince is ready to face any challenge that threatens his Lady-love. D-6: Starting at 6 gold Lot item D-6, compliments our saucy beauty of earlier. This Fairy Prince, a fire sprite, is a champion of all fae, but none more so than his mischievous Love. At first glance this doll may seem rough and unfinished, but after a few moments one will easily notice that the nicks upon the Prince's strong physique and notches from his wings were deliberate and calculated to accentuate his strength and courage. His wiry well-muscled chest of light reddish-brown cherry wood is bare to proudly display the darker scars of his battles to rescue her from the troubles she makes for herself. Like our Princess, the Prince exhibits a pair of wings with these made of a burnished brass wire frame and gossamer silver silk. The wire frames have been sharply bent in places as though cut and nicked in battle while the silk screening has been inked with small starbursts of yellow to red, the coloring of his fierce and passionate nature. His wild mane of pomegranate-orange hair is shoulder length and unbound as his spirit. Other than heavy armbands of gold, speckled flashing with ruby red chips of glass, this Prince wears no ornamentation. Even his feet are bare and the only clothing he wears is a pair of wide-legged pants drawn tight about his slim waist and each bare ankle. The blazing crimson, golden-yellow, and orange silk have been left to flutter free in between. Instead of a crown to announce this Prince, he bears the Imperial Shield strapped to his left arm. The defense of their Empire is a long and tear-drop shaped, a little taller than the height of his waist, and made of hammered and polished steel. An Eagle, his wings displayed proudly, is embossed in burnished bronze upon its curved face. Hefted dexterously in his other hand is carried a mighty spear; its haft is made of smooth ash and wrapped in intervals with orange and red silk braid for better wielding when it gets bloody from battle. Its long spike of steel is made for piercing and slashing and caps the weapon to stand only a little shorter than he does. D-7: Starting at 6 gold The relative calm and balance of the woodlands keeps the spirit of the Druid Prince, lot D-7, at peace with himself and those around him. He is a jovial fellow by the huge, glowing smile that lights every corner of his laughing features; from the dimples of his laughing-pudgy cheeks to the squint of barely discernable sparkling emerald chips embedded for his eyes. Like his Priestess-Love, item D-3, he shares her reddish-brown complexion for he was made of the same piece of black cherry, though he has been stained a slightly richer tan. His head is also covered with thick and luxuriant brown hair; this though shaggy with loose curls that hang just a little passed his shoulders. Those errant locks that would tickle his broad nose are kept safely back to the sides of his head by a braided circlet of silver silk cord that leaves tassels hanging down the back of his skull. Where his Lady of the Wood is a supple and buxom beauty, our Prince is a man tall and thick with the brawn of outdoors living. His shoulders are broad and heavy with knots of muscle that tighten up the flesh over his deep drum chest. His arms are solid with strength like smooth-rounded branches of oak wrapped around bones of unbreakable ironwood. His waist narrows only a little to give more room to his driving legs of tree trunks. Thankfully our Prince of Druids has as much modesty as he does humor on his face. Other than running about as though first born, he instead is robed in the finest the forests have to offer. His robust chest is clothed in a soft, but unbleached linen tunic whose ties have been left as wide open as his shoulders could stretch. Over this is a jerkin of leather, as stout and tough as a wolverine, tooled with darker imprints of leaves and trees and the powerful beasts of his totem, such as bears, wolves, and stags. Tied over his linen shirt and each massive forearm ride a pair of bracers made of large steel scales, each embossed with a different masculine rune, riveted to thick and hard leather. His other limbs are entrusted to the care of nut-brown breeches of bushy soft wool from the shaggy mountain goats. And his boots are made of hard-cured, oiled pelts; the silky furs keeping his feet warm while the tough leather protects and helps silence them from the forest floor. The Druid Prince is a happy and good-natured man with hardly an enemy. His imposing figure seems capable of handling those few opponents that might show unarmed. Still he comes with an added bonus -- strapped over his back, beneath the cloak of mottled green oilcloth trimmed in dark grey wolf fur, rides a wicked glaive. The flat of the blade is as wide as the Prince's hand is long and the polished steel is as long as the points from mid-shoulder blade to waist. Etched deep and dark into the blade, as though by a claw, are mystical-looking swirls and lines. The cutting edge is considerably longer than the blade for it is rounded and would be a crescent moon, fat almost to being half-full. Its cutting edge is jagged as though it were the jaw of a fanged beast and its tip is forked, with the lesser spike riding the inside of the curve. It has no crosspiece, making the whole weapon seem more like a poorly created axe; instead the steel hilt becomes thinner, rounded, and long enough for four of the Prince's hands as it rises up over his shoulder through a slot cut in his cloak. D-8: Starting at 6 gold The beat that our Gypsy Princess, lot D-4, sways and leaps and dances to comes from the drums of her Prince. The tallest of the male figures, our raven-haired Prince stands just a half inch over the thirteen of the other three. He is capped in a black felt hat; its crown squat and crisply circular with a band of flashing silver diamond-squares and its brim very wide dangling with long, chiming silver charms to add to the man's weeping willowy appearance. Starting at his bare toes, which help to root this willow of a man to earth lest he be caught up by the whirlwind of his seductive Princess, we climb the trunk of his long legs. These limbs are clad in red burgundy-dyed leather breeches that stop just before the bottoms of his calves. The pants hang loose and wide as though they were made for a shorter and stouter man than he and have been decorated down the sides with fat medallions of white gold that jangle like tack when he moves. A broad sash, of pistachio green satin fringed with ripe nectarine orange crochet and tassels, hides the belt cinching his breeches around his bony waist. Tucked neatly into sash and breeches both is a buttoned shirt of vibrant grape purple lined with thick and thin vertical stripes of blush. The heat of his Princess' dance has left him with all but two drake-imprinted silver buttons above his sash unbuttoned, revealing strings of gold and silver necklaces and charms. Our Prince was carved of the same tight-grained black ash as his Lady Love; well-noted by his bared lean chest, also stained a similar olive. The loose sleeves of his shirt have also been rolled up to his elbows revealing his long, gaunt arms which have been well-toned from beating the trio of connected drums hung from around his neck and shoulders for His tireless Princess. Strong hides stretch taunt across each of the tuned drums to be tied in place to alternating gold and silver buttons. The trio, from largest to smallest, is made of the finest reddish-brown mahogany, chocolate-colored rosewood, and brown ebony. Though made of separate trees, such is the craftsmanship in the instrument's smooth flowing lines and blending colors between each webbed-connected drum that it appears to have been carved from the same piece of wood. A musician of such great ability as able to raise anyone to their feet by his pounding rhythms or call down a shower of coins from the heavens for his songs most deserves such a fine instrument.
