Before taking the meter apart, moisten your finger or a paper towel and wipe it carefully across the face of the meter to rempve any possible static charhe that has built up on the plastic face, if that doesn't work, proceed as follows:

There is a chance that the stud on the rear of the zeroing screw has either slipped out of its mating loop on the meter, or has broken off.  Remove the meter from the cabinet and dis assemble it carefully.  Inspection should reveal the problem quickly.
If the stud is broken, hold the meter in a vertical position, of slanted slightly back if you have the double feet on the cabinet.  Then adjust it manually.  Check in the works of the meter if the stud has broken off. If it has slipped, just put the meter back together, taking care that the stud id inside the adjusting loop on the meter.
