I'd like to know if there is a "range" of levels established for the mic. input to the TR-4x family. (or perhaps a 1000 Hz or other frequency audio tone specification)
I know mic levels can vary dramatically based on their performance as well as the voice content. Obviously there is not one single answer since sound power can be so variable.
I'm preamping my mic.s but don't want to overdrive the 12AX7 inside the Drake. My particular radio has no other audio gain inside it; just the 12AX7 first stage pre-amp, and second stage 'cathode follower' to the balanced modulator.
