Hello all I purchased a good working Drake SSR-1, it's the one that was all solid state, synthesized, and built for Drake in Japan. I am wondering if anyone out there knows the correct color and/or paint for the cabinet. It is kind of a darker blue "hammertone" or textured paint unlike the 4 lines. It is unique. I can take it somewhere and get it color matched, but thought I would ask here first. I talked to Bill Frost at Drake and he said neither he nor John Kriner of "the man" electronics has ever worked on one. He didn't know the color. Any help is appreciated. I also need a front panel if there are any floating around out there. Here's a bit of Drake trivia for you. I found out that there are some individuals buying these up on E-Bay and shipping them to Japan. Bill Frost said that even though they were built there, they weren't allowed to sell them there, so now they are collectors items and going for big bucks. An average one on E-Bay goes for $200. Thanks for any help.
