Thanks to all who helped me track down my unlocked problem. it turned out to be 3 problems!
1. Checked 10V regulated on bottom of mother board. Was sitting at 13.8 volts. Tracked back to bad pass transistor and replaced. Told the YF, I've fixed it. much sceptacism.
Fired it up, still displaying a wied freq. didnt wrk
2. Checked other vptages. Found no 24 V from P.S. turned out that the connection between the wire on the transformer and the pin leading to ckt board was bad, due to cold solder joint
HINT - these rigs look more like prototypes than production units.many hand solder joints. I bet these cause multipmle problems.
Told YF finally fixed. Mush sceptacism.
3. Buttoned it all up, fired up. Blew Fuse. all that work shook a washer loose which shorted 12v to gnd. HINT - when u wrk on these rigs, remember loose solder or a washe can kill it.Check this out.
