Hi to the Group, I have a problem with my R7A and wonder if any collective knowledge out there can help me? When I put the AGC to Fast and have the RF gain at max, there is a nasty "plopping" in the speaker. It sounds like overloading or instability. Received signals appear to be chopped up. Backing of the RF gain control reduces this to almost nothing. I have tried the RF gain set pot and this is at one extreme (Clockwise) for the best result, but the problem persists.
Changing the AGC speed to medium or slow almost eliminates the problem, although I can detects a trace. I have set up the 2nd IF board as per the manual, but it does not help. I suspect a problem with the DC pedestal on the AGC line, but would be grateful for anyone else's experience. 73's Henry - G3GIQ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Submissions: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subscribe: [EMAIL PROTECTED] - subscribe drakelist in body Unsubscribe: [EMAIL PROTECTED] - unsubscribe drakelist in body Hopelessly Lost: [EMAIL PROTECTED] - help in body of message Brought to you courtesy of TLCHost.net http://www.tlchost.net/ ----------------------------------------------------------------------
