Fellow Drakelovers: A friend of mine asked me to check out his "new" R-4 which arrived the other day from Ohio in a cardboard box - that's it - no peanuts, no bubble wrap, no shredded paper. Just radio in a box. Unfortunately due to the "aftermarket" giant spinner knob on this radio, the PTO took the brunt of the bashing and is essentially toast. Ferrites are all broken up and the brass PTO shaft is broken.
Cosmetically this one is worth saving - anyone got a junker R-4 or T4X for sale, or a spare PTO?
