I wish that I could help you but all I can do is give kudos for your 
courage and curiosity that you have keeping boatanchors alive. It's guys 
like you who are willing to smoke something from time to time that are 
the innovators in keepring our ham radio hobby alive and well.
I don't know about today but apparently for a long time if you were in 
research at the 3M company and you didn't screw up or  blow up something 
you would be inveatigated. If you didn't smoke things you weren't trying 
enough. Pretty good approach.
Got to crack the egg to make an omelette!
