In this case there is a very good reason to direct the air OUT of the
box: at their intake side (the enclosure) the fans create a small
underpressure which sucks the ambient temperature air in through all
possible openings, gaps etc so the air is flowing around all the
components on its way cooling them down.  If the fans were set up to
push the ambient temperature air into the cabinet, this would create a
positive air pressure inside the cabinet and would slowly increase the
temperature of the components that are normally cool therefore heating
up the entire box. . Which is what we do not want.
